Omg I have been lax these past few weeks! Been super busy, so I'll give you some highlights:
- Did an art class and made a scratch off map (can't find it in myself to scratch off the paint though :D It might ruin it, its super flaky...
- My lecturer mentioned me via question I asked after class, I may have Hermione-squealed :p
- Found out I did my blog wrong (didn't fit critera) and had to do it again, but I don't mind, better to find out now than after the due date :)
- Enjoyed walks on the pier to watch the sunrise has been great
- Watched finding nemo in the cinema for £2.50!! so cheap
- Went to my first bangor vegan reseraunt and it was so so tasty, everything was vegan, even the condiments :D Had an italian style burger with sundried tomatos and olives, yum!
- Learnt to jive (as a male lead xD they needed more males)
- Lecturer made a joke about essay "if your essay is a sandwhich, think about the ingredients, and remember, I have to eat that sandwhich"
Mums been super encoraging as always :D She's the best human ever!
I think that's everything? Oh, since me and Robyn have made a pact to give up something together....I have no idea how this happened xD
Robyns given up meat and I've given up alcohol! So,
!!CONGRATULATIONS ROBYN!! 26/09/2016
So anyway, ciao for now x
So
had my first classes this week and I've got to say, I love them :D I
was really worried because I've not had any formal education in my field
but luckily all my own personal research and backpacking to the
historical sites related to the things I'm studying has put me on a
similar level to the newly educated students, thank god xD
First
day though the room for Apocalypse Then: 14th century was so much more
popular than the teacher anticipated a lot of students (me included) had
to sit on the floor. Memories...
I
also visited and fell in love with the library, it looks like Hogwarts!
I'll add pictures after the holiday though (forgot my camera) and got a
personal tour (it took me an hour to find a book, the system is new)
not knowing we were getting a tour next week by teachers! I was a little
preemptive here
Tuesday
I did modern history and now have a favourite teacher, he answers every
question I think of and is already talking about dates and events for
the exam! I feel so much more prepared now
Wednesday
and Thursday was my epiphany days (when I realised I was in control of
my own learning) I've been doing so much research since. I even finished
my bibliography to get out of the way, I felt weirdly good. Education
is super satisfying XD it's like when you get achievements in Dragon
Age!
Friday
was my lazy day, and rewarded myself by watching Snow White and the
Huntsman (great film) and made friends with a girl that just arrived at
my dorm - I didn't realise that a friend was what I needed to finally
feel settled but my Uni experience has completly improved now that I
have a gym/pier buddy xD I'll tell you about that in week 3's post
though :)
Weekend
was amazing, I skyped Mum and then Chris and Mum together! It made me
so happy :) I didn't realise how homesick I was before (moving out is so
different than moving away) so skype has been a godsend
Wow,
so this is the last (I hope) of any negative aspects of university
life. But preparing for homesickness is impossible, its a sneaky fog
that creeps on you. I reccomend pictures (I didn't bring any but I'm
soon going to fix that) and some home comforts: like blankets and
childhood toys
So thats all my advise, so ciao for now x
